POMPEY'S LEGIONS

Happy New Year everyone ! Sorry about the late post New Years and Christmas was a little busy...

As mentioned in earlier posts my second project is Caesar's legions v Pompey's legions, I made a start on this project and have got some pics to post, this is one of Pompey's basic recruit cohort, they have been hastily raised to fill in the gaps of his exhausted Legion, this cohort will be apart of Legio nona Hispana translated as the 9th Hispanic Legion

These photos are of the command group, the Centurian is in all red, along with the Optio (second in charge to the Centurian), who can be recognised by the red plume on his helmet, then third in charge would be the standard bearer, also included is a trumpet blower.

Now just above I have a pic showing two members of the command group, the Centurian who I converted a bit by adding to the length of his plume and changing the front structure of it, you see when I purchased these miniatures from Wargames Foundry, there was no Centurian in the unarmoured ranges, I had no one to lead these Recruits on so I decided to kinda create a centurian out of another miniature, I think he looks great. and finally there is this trumpet blower whos painted wolf's pelt looks awesome, even if I do say so myself !
these are the two highlights of the command group.

Next week I should have the rest of the cohort posted, so thats 15 miniatures in total including the command group.

You've done an excellent job on that wolf skin! I'm too scared to paint mine just yet for fear of ruining them!
